Hello, dear readers.
I want to talk to everyone for a hot second about self-publishing. It is a self-inflicted type of masochism to write a book, learn the hard way about creating a website, using Canva - only to realise you don't own the rights to the images, so have to pay for covers - marketing (including days spent watching videos and taking down notes) etc etc. Nevertheless, I think you will find most self-published authors tell you that we enjoy the process of it, get an addictive thrill every time we read a new review or see someone talking about our books. It certainly isn't for the faint of heart, but I think the self-published author carries a certain type of resilience, power to absorb knowledge, and openness to learn that others might not.
Perhaps this is less of a rant and more of a proverbial pat on the shoulder.
